Brian Dean Klett

Brian Dean Klett passed away unexpectedly on July 1, 2026. Brian was born on November 1st in Tacoma, Washington, the fourth child in a lively and loving family. His early years in University Place and later Tacoma were filled with unforgettable moments and friendships that shaped his youth. He loved baseball and played throughout elementary school, and he delighted audiences with childhood theater performances that revealed his humor and willingness to try new things. He was confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church, a reflection of the important role faith played in his life. He completed his GED and went on to serve in the United States Coast Guard in Florida and Maryland. Shortly before leaving for Florida, he married Colleena Barnard on June 3rd, beginning a life centered on devotion, responsibility, and family. He became a proud father to Jerimiah John and Charity Lynn, embracing fatherhood with deep love. After returning to Oregon, he earned a robotics degree from Mt. Hood Community College and built a career in machinery that led him around the world, including to India, Australia, Malaysia, and Brazil. His curiosity and work ethic allowed him to see places many only dream of, yet his heart was always anchored to home. Becoming a grandfather was the greatest joy of his life. He welcomed grandchildren Dakota James, Kaden Dean, Kailee Lorraine, and Elijah Henry, each bringing new happiness and pride. A loyal Seattle sports fan, he cheered with humor and optimism—highlighted by a memorable trip to Dallas for a Seahawks–Cowboys game that ended in a perfect win (for Brian, not Jerimiah). Though he faced challenges, in the past year he found renewed peace, contentment, and joy in his surroundings and family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and stories that will be shared for generations. Brian was preceded in death by his father, Dean Klett, and is survived by his children Jerimiah and Charity (Matt); grandchildren Dakota, Kaden, Kailee, and Elijah; his mother Carrol; siblings Karenlee, Mary (Sherman), Joanne, and his twin sister Robin (Tom); as well as several nieces and nephews. His presence enriched every life he touched, and his memory will continue to shine brightly. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 16th at St. Luke Lutheran Church-Portland, Or at 2:00pm.
