Aloysius Michael Renner

In Memory Of A.M. "Ollie" Renner Ollie Renner of Tualatin, Oregon was born on May 20, 1933 and passed away on December 8, 2024 after a brief illness. Ollie was the 11th and last child born to Nick and Monica Meuchel Renner. A native Oregonian born in Marion County, he lived nearly his entire life in Oregon. At age nine, the Renner family moved from Salem to settle in NE Portland. A lifelong Catholic, Ollie graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1951. He was proud to be a Ram, where he lettered on the varsity football team. He was the kicker, joyfully adding extra points to his teammates' touchdowns. He married the love of his life, Marilyn Fox in 1954, and together they raised their three children, Karen, Kevin and Kurt. Sadly, Marilyn passed away in 1985. After earning a bachelor's degree in business at the University of Portland, he joined the sales force of Burroughs Corp's Portland office where he worked for many years before accepting a transfer to their San Francisco office. After five years in the Bay area, Ollie and Marilyn moved back to Portland where he accepted a sales position with a young, fast growing Beaverton software firm. Half of his career selling computer hardware and half selling software brought a variety of experiences and satisfaction. An avid sports fan, Ollie spent many hours cheering for the Ducks, Beavers, Blazers and his favorite NFL team, the Raiders. In retirement he was able to enjoy many rounds of golf, securing a golfer's dream, a hole-in-one not once but twice! Ollie was a voracious reader, reading everything within reach, especially if it related to World War II and the 1950s. His interest was formed by virtue of six brothers serving in the military during the war. By circumstances of birth and military draft policies, he was the only one of the eight Renner brothers not to serve in his country's military. Ollie was predeceased by his parents and all 10 of his siblings. His survivors are Karen Hammer (Don) of Tualatin, OR; Kevin of Camas, WA; and Kurt (Anne) of Lakewood, CO. He also leaves four beloved granddaughters, Julia, Katherine, Erin and Michelle. Some of his fondest memories were of time spent with them during several trips to the Oregon coast. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Sherwood, OR.
