In Loving Memory Wendellen Lee Christenson Wendellen Lee Christenson was born the son of Melvin and Gladys Lane Christenson on August 2, 1931 in Eagle Bend, Minnesota. He moved to Oregon in 1940, and attended school in Newberg, graduating in 1950. Wendellen served 2 years in the U.S. Marine Corps. He went to work for the paper mill in Newberg and retired from Smurfit Newsprint after 38 years in 1993. He married Mary Baker in 1958, and they lived most of their lives on a small farm in Dayton, Oregon. After he retired, they moved to McMinnville, Oregon. On Friday, January 2, 2015, Wendellen Lee Christenson died at the age of 83. Surviving and left to honor his life are: His wife, Mary; children David Christenson, Lisa Phillips, Jamie Davidson, and Ann Badasha; three brothers, Lawrence Christenson, Miles Christenson, and Donovan Christenson; two sisters, Betty Meyers and Kathy Emerson; eight grandchildren; and those who have come to know and appreciate him where he has lived and worked. His Graveside Service will be held Thursday, January 8, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Valley View Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Newberg, with Pastor Steve Hopper officiating. Chapel Viewing and Visitation hours are Wednesday, January 7 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday, January 8 from 9 a.m. to 12 Noon at Attrell's Newberg Funeral Chapel, a Golden Rule funeral home.
