Marilyn L Hodgson
July 15, 1936 - August 17, 2020
Marilyn Reinelt Hodgson passed away peacefully in Wilsonville on August 17, 2020 to be with the Lord after a seven-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born in Walla Walla, Washington on July 15, 1936 to Ernest and Leona Reinelt. She, along with her brother Jere, was raised in Portland. She graduated from Cleveland High School in 1954, and attended Oregon State University, joining Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority where she developed many lifelong friendships. Marilyn met Sid Hodgson at OSU in 1957 and they were subsequently married in 1960, sharing 60 years of marriage together. They had two children, a son Craig and a daughter Darcy. Through them they were blessed with seven grandchildren. Marilyn was lovingly devoted to Sid, her children and grandchildren. Marilyn was very active, enjoyed oil painting, family camping trips with their travel trailer, annual vacations with the family at Black Butte Ranch and domestic and overseas travel. She was very involved in PEO Chapter F membership and Kappa alumni activities. Her greatest joy, however, was her grandchildren and being involved in their lives. Marilyn is survived by her husband Sid, son Craig (Karyn), daughter Darcy (Mark) and seven grandchildren Mark (Jill}, Sydney, Nathan, Morgan, Christopher, Lawrence and Theresa. Because of the pandemic, a family graveside memorial service is planned for September 19, 2020 at the Dallas Cemetery, in Dallas, Oregon. Through this site, we invite you to share your thoughts and fond memories with her family.
