Margaret Wiester Parkin was born and raised in Portland Oregon where she attended Ockley Green Grade School, and Jefferson High School. Margaret lived in the Portland area for 61 years, then she moved to the Oregon Coast where she lived for 25 years, until moving to Oregon City four years ago. She is survived by Children, Wade Parkin and his wife Candye, David Parkin and his wife Maureen, and Mindy Johnson and her husband Rick. Margaret has five grandchildren, Josh, Angi, Matt, Stephanie, Zach and seven great-grandchildren, Hannah, Harry, Cassie, Claire, Karter, Josh and Evan. Margaret belonged to and attended First Baptist Church in Portland for 53 years, until moving to the coast where she attended Faith Baptist Church. Her church was always very important to her. Margaret was a very giving person, and helped many people and charitable organizations through the years with her generosity. Besides her faith, Margaret's passion was always horses. She owned horses for all of her adult life, and for many years owned a boarding and training stable where they raised and successfully showed Arabian horses. Margaret owned a horse until she was 85 years old, and rode until she was 80. Another highlight of her life that she spoke about often, were a couple of extensive trips in her RV with her dog Annie. She traveled to Alaska, and as far east as Maryland, and had many wonderful experiences. Margaret enjoyed her family and friends, and they her, and will be greatly missed.
