OBITUARY INFORMATION: Lawrence Joseph Polzel Lawrence Joseph Polzel was born the son of Emery and Jennie (Campbell) Polzel on Tuesday, March 30, 1915 in Dickens, Nebraska. Lawrence grew up and attended school in Colorado. He moved to Oregon with his family in the late 1930’s. In 1941 he married Verna Pendleton, and they made their home in Eugene. Later they moved to Portland, where he was a mechanic in the shipyards. Lawrence then worked as a truck mechanic until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also liked camping, traveling with his family and visiting relatives, always enjoying the drive. On Friday, September 17, 2010, Lawrence Joseph Polzel died at his residence in Gresham when he was ninety five years, five months and eighteen days of age. Surviving and left to honor his life are: His daughter Janet Watkins of Portland; two sons, Gary of Portland and Randy of Hillsboro; his brother Bud of Klamath Falls; his sister Margaret Chandler of Palm Springs, CA; six grandchildren and those who have come to know and appreciate him where he has lived and worked. His wife Verna preceded him in death. His Graveside Service will be held, Friday, September 24, at 12:00 p.m. in Valley View Memorial Park in Newberg.
