OBITUARY INFORMATION: Larry LeRoy Erickson Larry LeRoy Erickson was born the son of Walter and Florence (Benson) Erickson on Tuesday, November 13, 1934 in Wyanett, Minnesota. Larry moved to Newberg at the age of fourteen with his family. He worked as a farmhand before enlisting in the US Navy in 1954 where he served for four years. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he returned to Newberg where he settled. Larry raised goats, steer, hay and barley. He worked on filbert and walnut orchards. Larry enjoyed traveling to the Oregon Coast and stopping off at Spirit Mountain Casino. He always helped those in need of assistance and enjoyed volunteering with the missionary program at Rock Point Church where he was a member. On Wednesday, May 16, 2012, Larry LeRoy Erickson died at his residence when he was seventy-seven years, six months and three days of age. Surviving and left to honor his life are: His wife Virginia; his son Dan Bynum and his wife Laurie of Dundee; his brother Gilbert (Corky) Sampson of Sanford, Montana; four sisters, Lois Varney of Clinton Township, Michigan, Shirley Haas and her husband Harold of Crosslake, Minnesota, Jessie Mae Johnson and her husband Bob of Lindstrom, Minnesota and Ruth Ann Hutchison and her husband Jim of Redding, California; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and those who have come to know and appreciate him where he has lived and worked. His parents preceded him in death. His Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in Noble Pioneer Cemetery in Newberg.
