Josephine A Kjensrud

August 16, 1946 - March 13, 2022

Josephine Ann Kjensrud (Josie) beloved wife, mother, and grandmother was born on August 16, 1946, to Georgia and Ambrosio Tabios in San Jose, CA. She had an older brother Frankie, younger brother Victor, and two younger sisters, Gloria and Susie. She grew up in San Jose and graduated San Jose High School in 1964. She then met her future husband, Jerold Dean Kjensrud (Ski) at the USO dance in San Jose on July 2, 1965. She married Ski on January 2, 1966, and went on to have 2 children, Jerry, and Belinda in San Jose. Josie worked at Levi Strauss, Fairchild, AMD and Shugart while in California. She enjoyed riding motorcycles with her family in Hollister, CA and camping around the country. She moved to Auburn, CA in 1981, Cool, CA in 1986, then moved to Hillsboro, OR in 1988, and then settled in Sherwood, OR in 2004 where her and Ski built their dream house. She attended Portland Community College where she was pursuing a career in counseling. She enjoyed cooking, family, yoga, Tai Chi, meditating daily in her meditation room and reading. She had a big heart and would always help family and friends; she was an angel to everyone. She always found time to attend her grandchildren’s activities and loved spending time with them. Josie and Ski were able to travel throughout the country and to Norway, Canada, and Hawaii. She loved to travel and see the world. Josie had a lit Christmas tree in her living room since 2017 and told Ski that she wanted to keep it up every year so every day would be Christmas. She was diagnosed with MCI in 2017 which progressed to late-stage dementia in 2021. Josie continued to fight the disease right up until the end in her home. She peacefully passed away on March 13, 2022, at 4:01am surrounded by her husband Ski, son Jerry, daughter Belinda and grandchildren Dakota and Madison. Josie is survived by her husband Ski, son Jerry and his wife Stephanie, daughter Belinda, brothers Frankie and Victor, sisters Gloria and Susie, and 7 grandchildren: Dakota, Madison, Dominic, Timothy, Gabriella, Marissa, and Zachary. There will be a private viewing and service at Attrell’s Funeral Chapels - 207 Villa Road, Newberg OR 97132 on March 20, 2022, at 10am.
