Jerome Edward Partch

April 17, 1939 - May 3, 2016

Jerome “Jerry” Edward Partch graduated to glory May 3rd at the age of 77 after battling cancer. He was born April 17, 1939 in San Pedro, CA to John & Elizabeth Partch. He graduated from La Jolla High School in 1957, where he met his high school sweetheart and future wife, Judy Skinner. Jerry received his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and his Masters degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder. He had a fulfilling career in telecommunications and the cable television industry and his own consulting business. Jerry and Judy and their three children moved around, spending time in Colorado and California before settling in Eugene, Oregon. The Friendsview Retirement Community in Newberg was his home for the last six years. Jerry had a love of sailing, boating, camping, hiking and many outdoor activities. Moral integrity and honesty were a trait he was known for in business and life. He was very active in his church and had a great love of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Jerry loved music and participated in many church and community choirs, and performed with the Eugene Opera. Family was an incredibly important part of Jerry’s life and he greatly enjoyed watching his children’s and grandchildren’s many sports, music, theatre, and other activities. Jerry is survived by his wife Judy, his sister Jane Smith, his children Karen Pappel (Ron), Kathy Cannon (Brad) and John Partch (Terri); 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. A private family burial will be held at Valley View Memorial Park in Newberg. A Celebration of Life service will be held 1 PM May 14th at Grace Baptist Church, 1619 E. 2nd Street, Newberg, Oregon.
