James Ernest Carrier

James Ernest Carrier was born on December 18th, 1938 in Portland, OR to Ernest and Sara Carrier. He had two brothers: Dale Carrier and Paul Carrier (deceased). He spent his early years in the Portland area and later moved to the Medford, OR area where he graduated high school and went on to marry his first wife, Nancy Eck (deceased). They had four children together. Jim married Barbara in 1978, his current wife of 43yrs. They built a beautiful life together full of family and friends making memories to last a lifetime. Barb and Jim enjoyed entertaining at their home, hosting many holidays and parties over the years. They were very social and always on the go. They could often be found camping on a lake, in Alaska fishing, or traveling around in their RV. Jim was a hard worker who carved out his own position at Leupold & Stevens Inc and retired after 35 yrs. In retirement, Jim spent much of his time woodworking or tinkering in his shop, gardening, baking his famous peanut butter cookies, or feeding his hummingbirds. Jim passed away with his wife by his side on May 16, 2022 from cancer. He is survived by his wife Barbara Carrier with three children: Diane Johnson, Jack Shaw (Shannon), and Theresa Harris (Craig); and his four children with his first wife, Nancy: Tim Carrier (Shannon), Nathan Carrier (Lotus), Kayleen Tharpe (James), and Raymond Carrier (Kim); and his brother, Dale Carrier. Together they had 19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He will be forever missed and loved by all.
