Donald K Campbell

March 14, 1943 - August 16, 2021

On Monday the 16th Don went home to be with his Savior after battling a long time disease. In the last days he was surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren, and close friends. There was an incredible amount of peace in his passing. Even as we grieve the loss here on earth, we rejoice in believing he is now in heaven fully and completely whole again in the arms of Jesus. Don is survived by wife Judy; daughters Jen and Gary McCourt, and Heather and Matt Milligan; grandchildren Emma and Josh Weaver, Zach and Cherise Milligan, Ben Milligan, Megan McCourt, Kate McCourt, Josh Milligan, Gabe Milligan, and Grace Milligan; and sister Sharon and Fred Schmidtke. Don had a wide range of interests and tried a lot of things! He loved traveling and enjoyed Hawaii, a cruise to Alaska, the Oregon Coast, visiting Taiwan and Korea, fishing the boundary waters in Minnesota, and lots of Road Trips! One of Don’s most recent and favorite adventures was a flight in an ultra light on he and Judy’s last trip to Hawaii. He hunted, fished, hiked, and enjoyed archery. One of his favorite places to be was camping on the Metolius in central Oregon with his family. He would take all the grandkids on discovery hikes and they would return hot, sweaty, laughing, with arm loads of wildflowers for the ladies back at camp. Grandson Zach and wife Cherise have promised to make sure those kinds of adventures continue! Don loved the water - any way he could be on it he would - sailing, white water rafting, or in a kayak. He enjoyed playing golf with friends and family even playing 36 in one day with friend Ken and his sons in law. Don loved woodworking! He made cradles for both of his daughters that have held each of his 8 grandchildren. He made a wedding arch for granddaughter Emma and her husband Josh. He also passed a love of woodworking on to granddaughter Emma! He loved to use his skill to help out and made check in stations for church as well. Don was invested in missions work and took trips with Africa New Life and Living Water. He loved his time in Rwanda with ANLM and his entire family noticed how it changed something in him. He was just a little more giving (hard to do as he was already very generous with his money, time, and talents), a little more aware, and was able to hold a global understanding he hadn’t had before. He went to Honduras with Living Water and loved every minute. He got to go on both trips with amazing men and women and treasured the relationships he made and deepened! A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 17th, 2:00p at Grace Chapel, Wilsonville, OR. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Africa New Life www.africanewlife.org or Living Water www.water.cc.
