Alice Fay Weaver Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

OBITUARY INFORMATION: Alice Fay Weaver Alice Fay Weaver was eighty seven when she passed away. Alice was born in Silverton, Oregon on June 30, 1925. Her parents were Milton Woodford and Margarite Fay (Heinz) Woodford. Alice married Bob Weaver on March 14, 1945 in Oregon City. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her son Samuel Grant Weaver, her brother Herbert, sisters, Irene Watson, Barbara Luisi, Rose Gillson and Lucille Patterson. She is survived by her husband Bob; her son Bob and his wife Jackie Weaver of Marcola, Oregon; her daughter-in-law Diane Weaver of Dallas, Oregon; her sister Leona Dammen of Eugene, Oregon and brother Herman Woodford and his wife Ellie of Oregon City, Oregon; two granddaughters and their families, Trisha and David Crandall of Denver, Colorado and Tonia and John Steffey of Roosevelt, Utah and six Great-grandchildren. Alice was a tremendous mother, and the world’s best partner!!! One of her greatest accomplishments for God was becoming a mother. He gave her two sons. Alice was a quiet, humble, and dignified person dedicated to serving her Lord. Her life centered around her three men, her husband and sons Sam and Robert, building an environment of giving, caring, and quiet unconditional love. In addition to her family, Alice loved growing flowers, listening to her favorite big band music, dancing, crocheting, sewing and cooking for her three men. Alice loved football and was a very proud and loyal University of Oregon Duck fan. She enjoyed traveling and visiting with interesting people. She especially enjoyed South America and Alaska. She spent several months visiting and studying about the areas of both the Civil War and the War of Independence. Alice made many visits to her favorite Big Island of Hawaii. She also spent many days, weeks, and months at her beloved Oregon beach. In the past few years she spent the month of February in the warm and sunny weather in Palm Desert. Alice was awarded The Sisters of Providence Newberg Hospital in Hearts of Gold trophy for the year 2002. She was selected Rotary wife of the year in 1985. Alice received the Paul Harris Fellowship award from Rotary International in 1990. Alice was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. For many years she was active in the Wednesday Club (supporting the library.) She was a very active member of the Hospital Auxiliary for many years. Alice was a loyal member of Newberg First United Methodist Church. Her Memorial Service will be Sunday, October 21, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church, Newberg.
