Patsy C. Simmons

On the morning of Tuesday September 19th, we said goodbye to our beloved Mother and Grandmother, Patsy Simmons, she was 81 years old. Patsy was born in Hendersonville, Tenn. She met our father while working together, and they were married in Dayton Ohio. In the early 70’s, we all moved to Newberg, Oregon, where she enjoyed raising us four kids. After raising us, she began her 30-year long career at NIKE. Patsy thoroughly relished working at NIKE. She had a community of friends, which she has held those relationships close for many years. She also had her circle of friends from attending Newberg Christian Church. In January 2023, she retired from NIKE and was looking forward to a “New Chapter”. Patsy was taken from us so unexpectedly. We are still healing from the loss of our father, Paul Simmons, this past January. They were married for 61 years and lived a full life together. Patsy’s “Next Chapter”, had begun, she was planning on traveling this next Spring with friends. She always enjoyed working in the garden and was finding new flowers to plant around the farm. What Patsy truly loved were her kids and especially her grandchildren, which were her ultimate pride and joy. She loved spending time with her granddaughters cooking in her kitchen, making grandma’s cookies and pies. The grandboys of course would benefit from her home-made goodies and her repairs on their clothing. She enjoyed cooking for holidays, birthdays, and other celebrations where the family would gather. Patsy was a ball of energy and kept herself active. She made an impact on everyone that she encountered, with her generous soul and kindheartedness; Patsy will be dearly missed. Patsy is survived by daughter Pam (husband Greg), son Phil (wife Carrie), son Patrick (wife Amy), and son Pete (wife Amy), along with her 5 amazing grandkids: Hannah, Aden, Audrey, Ryan, and Abby. A Celebration of Life for Patsy will be Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 1:00pm-4:00pm at the Northwest Christian Church, 2315 Villa Rd., Newberg, OR 97132
