Clara Mae Fletcher

CLARA MAE FLETCHER was born September 22, 1930 in Alpena, South Dakota, the daughter of the late Chester Hebron and Pearl (Borders) Hebron, the youngest of four children. She moved to her eternal home on March 31, 2026. Clara resided in Kellogg, Idaho and Butte, Montana before moving to Oregon and settling in the Forest Grove community in 1944 with her parents. She remained working and residing in the Willamette Valley until she was united in marriage to Paul Terrill Fletcher on August 7, 1982. The two then spent time residing in Bend and Pacific City, Oregon before she moved to Newberg, Oregon after Paul’s passing. She received her primary education from Forest Grove High School and later additional training from the Oregon Society of Radiologists as a technician. Clara spent the majority of her working career in nursing. She started as a nurse working for several general practitioners and ended her nursing career working as an X-ray Technician for a Radiologist. Her last years before retirement while in Bend were spent working in ticket sales for Mt Bachelor. Clara was a member of both Bend Calvary Chapel where she was baptized and later Northwest Christian Church when she moved to Newberg. Among her special interests, she loved sewing and crafts which she generously made and gifted to family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Pearl Hebron, her husband Paul Fletcher, her two brothers, Clarence Hebron and Wayne Hebron, her sister Mildred Kennedy, and her grandson Matthew Fletcher. Survivors include her son, Vance Vandehey of Scappoose, Oregon, and son, Val Vandehey and his wife Shannon of McMinnville, Oregon. She is also survived by her daughter, Paula Marie Chez of Newberg, Oregon, and her daughter, Karen Bressel and her husband David, of Happy Valley, Oregon. Also surviving are her seven grandchildren, Jordan Givens, Jennifer Gurule, Kayeleigh Owens, Eric Vandehey Chez, Logan Vandehey, Ben Bressel and Julia Bressel, and (10) great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The family suggests that remembrances may be contributions to Northwest Christian Church, 2315 Villa Rd, Newberg, Or 97132 or to a charity of one's choice, in her memory. here will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, June 6 at Northwest Christian Church at 11am.
